December is an interesting time for college students. On one hand, Christmas specials are on constant repeat, Mariah Carey is blasting on the radio, and everyone is talking about how it’s “the most wonderful time of the year”. On the other hand…
And an overwhelming feeling of stress.
For this reason, the CU Bee Club wanted to do something fun to give its members a chance to relax and enjoy the holiday season. And when it comes to de-stressing, there’s truthfully nothing better than cookie decorating!
Frosted Jules Cookies
Of course, we didn’t just want to get our members any regular old cookie to decorate. Our members are the best, and so they deserve the best: Frosted Jules Cookies!
Frosted Jules Cookies are made with love and care by JulieMarie Shepherd Macklin (who also happens to be a professor at CU). For our cookies, we had a snowflake, Ralphie, and best of all, a bee wearing a Santa hat!
Putting Some Joy in the Holiday Season
Needless to say, the meeting was a HUGE success! Not only were the cookies delicious (some members even said they were the best sugar cookies they’ve had), but everyone enjoyed the chance to sit down with friends, relax, and forget about the stress of finals for a while. It truthfully did feel like the most wonderful time of the year.
While the Bee Club is all about taking care of bees and the environment, sometimes it’s important to remember that it’s necessary to take care of our ourselves as well. So good luck, buffs! May you use this meeting to give you the energy you need to push through finals season!
